Stably bringing electricity to difficult areas

Tan Thanh, Tan Kim and Duong Thanh are three communes of Phu Binh district where Thai Nguyen Power Company has invested and constructed new substations, upgrading medium and low voltage power lines under the Project of supplying electricity to households in rural, mountainous and remote areas. These efforts for improving electricity quality in disadvantaged areas have created some initially positive effects on the people’s life.

Workers of Thai Nguyen Power Company energized Hoa Lam 2 Substation which was newly invested and installed at Hoa Lam village, Tan Thanh commune, Phu Binh district.

In addition to Hoa Lam and Tan Thai villages, in other villages in Phu Binh district such as Xuan Lai, Thong Bong, Nui Chua (Tan Kim commune); Dong Bau Ngoai, Na Bi (Tan Thanh commune), An Thanh 2, Trung Thanh, Nguon, Nui 2 (Duong Thanh communes), distribution substations, 7 km of medium voltage lines and over 42 km of low voltage lines have been newly constructed, contributing to stable electricity supply for nearly 5,000 households. This project is invested by the Northern Power Corporation with a total investment cost of VND 17 billion. Thai Nguyen Power Company has assigned Phu Binh Power Department to implement the project.

According to Mr. Le Van Gioi, Director of Phu Binh Power Department, the expansion of power grids in rural, mountainous and remote areas contributes to improvement of infrastructure for rural socio - economic development, which supports these areas to keep pace with lowland and delta areas. To realize this target, the Power Department has coordinated with the local authorities in the communes to promote information dissemination and persuade people to voluntarily donate their lands and properties to the project, facilitating the project construction.  Although encountering many difficulties during the project implementation because a number of households did not cooperate or claim compensation, which delayed the construction progress, the Power Department made great efforts to install, complete and energize 8 out of 11 substations before April 30, 2018, ensuring stable power supply to people before the hot season. The remaining three substations have been already completed, energized, being scheduled to operate and provide electricity to households in early July 2018.
