Minister of Trade and Industry of Vietnam Tran Tuan Anh had a bilateral talk with Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Hiroshige Seko
Minister Tran Tuan Anh highly appreciated METI’s supports and assistances extended to MOIT in particular and Vietnam in general in the field of energy conservation during the past time, especially in the training of management and technical staff as well as developing a policy framework for energy efficiency and conservation.
However, given the rapid development of Vietnam's energy sector as well as the needs for cooperation and investment in the energy sector of foreign partners including Japan, Minister Tran Tuan Anh asked METI to kindly consider assisting some energy intensive sectors and local governments to execute the Law on Energy Efficiency and Conservation; raising the capacity of long - term human resource training in energy management, economical and efficient use of energy; providing technical assistances, consultancy services of researching and working out solutions on energy efficiency and energy conservation in key areas.
In response to suggestions from the Vietnamese side, METI Minister was pleased to announce that cooperation areas stated in the Agreement signed by both parties in September 2017 were under implementation. For human resource training, METI has always paid attention to and supported Vietnam in the fields of Vietnam’s need.
At the end of the meeting, the two ministers pledged to make every effort to ensure that agreements and commitments would be persistently implemented and that new cooperation proposals would be further put forward in the future for the sake of economic development of each country and of the region.
