The ceremony to announce Vietnam’s Sustainable Businesses in 2020 took place on December 10, 2020 in Hanoi. The ceremony was co-hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. This is the 5th consecutive year of the Program on Evaluating and Announcing Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam.

From more than 500 businesses being pre-qualified, the Organizing Committee has selected top 100 businesses excelling and leading in sustainable development.

In parallel with production activities, Thai Binh Thermal Power Company has always attached importance to environmental protection. Advanced and state of the art environmental protection technologies have been used in the project to ensure that all the output parameters of exhaust gas and wastewater of the power plant in operation will meet requirements in the current regulations on environmental protection.
The company fully undertakes its obligations prescribed in the environmental impact assessment report. The emission monitoring system is connected online from the company to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thai Binh province and EVN for constant monitoring. The company has planted thousands of square meters of grass and thousands of trees of all kinds in the power plant to create a green landscape; planted nearly 3,500 casuarina trees around the power plant and around the slag yard to form a green belt and prevent dust spreading, etc.
Over the years, the company has regularly paid attention to supporting local social security activities such as contributing to the social protection fund, charity fund of the province, visiting and giving gifts to poor students overcoming difficulties, supporting the program of jointly building new countryside, participating in funding as well as encouraging employees to contribute wages to hunger eradication and poverty reduction for the people in neighboring communes as well as in Thai Binh province, etc.
