Meeting between EVN and Sungrow Renewables (China)

EVN President & CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan highly appreciated Sungrow Renewables' contributions to the renewable energy sector in Vietnam, emphasizing that EVN welcomes foreign investors with strong financial capacity and expertise. He also reaffirmed the Vietnamese government's commitment to renewable energy development to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, as pledged at COP26. The ongoing revision of Power Development Plan VIII is being expedited by the government to create more favorable conditions for investors.

Another key topic discussed during the meeting was energy storage systems (BESS). President & CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan highlighted that with the rapid expansion of renewable energy, ensuring grid stability is a critical factor. Therefore, EVN seeks further discussions with Sungrow Renewables on energy storage solutions, including the requirement for a minimum BESS capacity of 10% for future renewable energy plants.

Both sides agreed to continue close cooperation, enhancing policy and technology exchanges while exploring new collaboration opportunities to foster the sustainable development of Vietnam's renewable energy sector.
