The working delegation was led by Mr. Tran Phu Thai - Chairman of EVNGENCO2 Board of Directors, with the participation of member units.
Mr. Bouathep Malaykham - Director of Laos DESM was pleased to welcome and work with the EVNGENCO2 working delegation. The two sides discussed long-term cooperation plans in industrial safety, energy, and investment in the energy sector in Laos; at the same time, they agreed to establish a working group to continue to implement and concretize the cooperation between the two sides in the coming time.
During the trip, the EVNGENCO2 delegation also received support from the Vietnamese Embassy in the Laos PDR, creating opportunities to meet and discuss with a number of energy companies here. The Embassy Counselor said that he will continue to actively support EVNGENCO2 in developing investment projects in Laos.

EVNGENCO2 met and discussed with Nam Theun 2 Power Company Limited (NTPC). The company currently owns one of the largest hydropower plants in Southeast Asia, with a net generating capacity of 1,070MW in the central Khammouane province in central Laos. EVNGENCO2 discussed the provision of maintenance services related to the existing Nam Theun 2 Hydropower Plant. The delegation then met with the Electricite du Laos Transmission Company Limited (EDL-T) to discuss the provision of maintenance services related to the existing power grid of EDL-T.
In addition, EVNGENCO2 also had a working session with Phongsupthavy Group (PSTG). This group currently has 10 hydropower plants with a total installed capacity of 254.3MW, 10 hydropower plant projects under construction with a total capacity of 3,705MW (2023), and according to the plan, there are also 54 hydropower plant projects, 8 wind power projects, etc.
At the working session at PSTG headquarters, the two sides introduced and exchanged information about each other's activities and desired to cooperate in the management, operation, and maintenance of hydropower plants, as well as investment in developing hydropower projects and other potential projects of PSTG.
With the capacity, experience, and outstanding results in production and business activities of EVNGENCO2 since its establishment, EVNGENCO2 is looking for opportunities to promote its strengths in management, operation, and maintenance of hydropower plants in Laos PDR, as well as looking for investment opportunities, contributing to the common socio-economic development of the two countries.
