The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and the Southern Power Projects Management Board (SPMB), in coordination with the Southern Load Dispatch Center (SSO) and relevant units, carried out the energization process, thereby completing the entire Nhon Trach Industrial Park 220kV Substation and its connection Project.
At the same time, the double-circuit transmission line section from Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant to the Nhon Trach Industrial Park 220kV Substation, as part of the Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - Long Thanh 500kV Substation 220kV Transmission Line Project, was also put into operation.
Energizing these two facilities just before the September 2nd National Day holiday helps boost power supply capacity and enhances the operational reliability of the power system in Dong Nai and neighboring areas. This also serves as a meaningful activity by EVNNPT, SPMB, and relevant units to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2026).
Both projects are classified as Group B, Class I energy projects, with EVNNPT as the project owner. SPMB manages and administers the projects on behalf of the project owner, while Power Transmission Company No. 4 will take over the management and operation of the facilities upon completion.

Nhon Trach Industrial Park 220kV Substation and Connection Lines
The Nhon Trach Industrial Park 220kV Substation is located in Nhon Trach Commune, Dong Nai City, and features two 220/110/22kV transformers, each with a capacity of 250MVA. AT1 Transformer was energized on December 28, 2025. Bringing AT2 transformer into operation raises the substation's total capacity to 500MVA, fully completing the project's design scope.
The 220kV side of the substation is designed with 10 bays, of which 7 bays are installed in this phase, while 3 positions are reserved for future expansion. The 110kV side comprises 15 bays, including 10 equipped bays and 5 spare positions.
The substation is fully equipped with integrated systems for control, protection, measurement, metering, and communication, as well as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), ensuring safe and reliable operation.
The connection component consists of two double-circuit line sections with a total length of approximately 574 m, connecting the Nhon Trach Industrial Park 220kV Substation to the Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant – Long Thanh Transmission Line.

220kV Line Section: Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant – Nhon Trach Industrial Park 220kV Substation
The 220kV transmission line project connecting Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant to Long Thanh 500kV Substation has a total length of approximately 26.57 km and passes through communes and wards in Dong Nai City. Of this total, the section newly energized from Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant to the Nhon Trach Industrial Park 220kV Substation is approximately 14km long.
The newly commissioned facilities will enhance the capacity to release power from the Nhon Trach power plant cluster, while also strengthening power supply to loads in Dong Nai and neighboring areas. The work will also help reduce loading on the existing 220/110kV transformers at substations and 110kV transmission lines in the area.
The addition of new transmission links enhances grid utilization, increases system redundancy in line with the N-1 criterion, and strengthens the safety and reliability of the regional power system.
