On the last working day before the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday (24 January 2025, the 25th day of the 12th lunar month), EVNSPC energized the U Minh Thuong 110kV substation and the 110kV branch line connecting the U Minh Thuong 110kV substation (Kien Giang province), with a total investment of more than VND 78.6 billion. When put into operation, the work meets the local load development needs, contributing to the socio-economic development of Kien Giang province; in addition, the work also contributes to reducing power loss, forming a 22kV loop circuit connecting the 110kV substations An Bien - U Minh Thuong - Vinh Thuan and neighboring 110kV substations, improving the reliability of power supply to the area according to the N-1 criterion.

Also on this day, EVNSPC also energized and put into operation the phase separation work of the  O Mon - Song Hau 110kV line - the connection point of the Sa Dec 220kV substation (passing through Can Tho city and Dong Thap province). The work has a total investment of nearly VND 42 billion, with a scale of construction and renovation of a 24.06km long single-circuit line. When put into operation, the work contributes to increasing the capacity of power transmission on the existing 110kV line, meeting the load development needs of the area; contributing to reducing incidents due to violations of the grid safety corridor; and at the same time increasing the reliability of power supply.

On the same day, EVNSPC also successfully energized the Giang Dien Industrial Park 110kV Substation and the connection line (Dong Nai province).

In Binh Phuoc province, on 23 January 2025 (the 24th day of the 12th lunar month), EVNSPC also directed Binh Phuoc Power Company to successfully energize phase 1 of the 110kV Feeder Project from Phuoc Long 220kV Substation (4 circuits). The work has a total investment of VND 30.66 billion, with a construction scale of a 4-circuit line 2.55 km long, including 13 tower locations. Phase 1, EVNSPC  temporarily energized 2 circuits from feeders 171, and 172 of Phuoc Long 220kV  Substation to the connection location with the existing Phuoc Long - VeDan 2 110kV line. The construction work aims to transmit power from the Phuoc Long 220kV Substation to the existing Phuoc Long, Dong Phu, Dong Xoai, VeDan 2, Bu Dang 110kV substations and the Bac Dong Phu and Phu Rieng Industrial Park 110kV substations under new construction investment; meet the load development requirements of Phu Rieng, Dong Phu, Phuoc Long districts and increase the reliability of safe and stable power supply for 110kV substations in Binh Phuoc province, etc.

Previously, right after the 2025 New Year holiday, EVNSPC and its member units and contractors were determined to accelerate the progress, complete and put into operation 3 110kV power grid works: Work to renovate and increase the capacity of Thanh Duc 110kV substation from 2x40MVA to 2x63MVA and work to renovate and increase the capacity of Tan Bien 110kV substation from 2x40 MVA to 2x63 MVA (Tay Ninh province); the newly built  North Phu Quoc 110kV substation, part of the  North Phu Quoc 110kV substation work (Phu Quoc city, Kien Giang province).

Along with the 110kV grid projects, in January 2025, EVNSPC also energized and put into operation 3 medium-voltage grid projects in the provinces of Long An, An Giang, and Tay Ninh.

EVNSPC representative said that by the end of 2024, EVNSPC had excellently and comprehensively completed many targets and plans; including a special achievement in investment and construction work when it started 58 projects, completed energizing 78 110kV grid works, including 62 works by the annual plan, 16 transitional and renovation works; energized 583 medium and low voltage works. The total disbursed investment capital value in 2024 is VND 13,798 billion, reaching 104.5% of the plan assigned by EVN.

In 2025, the unit set many important tasks and major targets; in which all efforts will be mobilized to complete 50 projects in April 2025 to establish practical achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment and development of the Southern Power Corporation (30 April 1975 – 30 April  2025); at the same time, contributing to meeting the electricity demand for economic and social development in 21 southern provinces and cities.

Although whole country has entered the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, at construction sites of EVNSPC's 110kV power projects, construction atmosphere is still urgent and fierce.
