On January 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2), in collaboration with SEDC Energy, Hydrexia, GF, and KPT Group, held a workshop titled: “Green Hydrogen Production, MHX Solid-State Storage and Transportation Technology.”

The event aimed to foster professional exchange, strengthen technical connections, and update participants on the latest technological solutions in the green hydrogen sector — one of the key pillars of the global energy transition.

The workshop featured thematic sessions providing an overview of the global and Vietnamese green hydrogen markets, core technologies for MHX solid-state hydrogen production, transportation, and storage, as well as discussions on the potential and development orientations of future green hydrogen projects in Vietnam.

A notable highlight of the program was the live demonstration and on-site tour of a metal hydride MHX solid-state hydrogen storage container developed by Hydrexia. This marked the first time this technology had ever been exhibited in Vietnam, right at the PECC2 Innovation Hub campus.

With abundant renewable energy potential and a rapidly growing industrial base, Vietnam is regarded as a promising market for future green hydrogen projects. Supportive policies, available infrastructure, and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies are expected to create favorable conditions for the commercial deployment of green hydrogen in Vietnam, contributing meaningfully to the country’s sustainable development goals and greenhouse gas emissions reduction commitments.

Beyond serving as a platform for knowledge sharing and technology showcasing, the program marked an important milestone in advancing strategic cooperation between PECC2, KPT Group, GF, SEDC Energy, and Hydrexia in the development of green hydrogen projects in Vietnam. In this collaborative effort, PECC2 and GF contribute deep expertise in clean energy engineering and local project development; SEDC Energy brings practical experience from green hydrogen projects in Sarawak (Malaysia); and Hydrexia offers advanced solutions for solid-state hydrogen storage and transportation.
