High efforts, great determination, ahead of schedule
The Long Thanh Airport 110kV substation (TBA) project and connection line was started in June 2024, with a total investment of VND 119 billion. The substation scale includes two transformers (capacity 40MVA/unit) and connection lines. Phase 1 installs 01 transformer and 2-circuit line with a total length of 3.8km.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc - EVNSPC's President and CEO, to supply power for the operation of Long Thanh airport - a key national work, EVNSPC and Dong Nai PC have planned to invest in a 110kV substation. According to the plan, the substation will be energized in the second quarter of 2025. Following the direction of the Prime Minister, EVNSPC has set a higher target of energizing in early 2025, 6 months shorter than the plan. With great efforts and determination of the construction force and leaders at all levels, especially with the support of the locality, the work was energized 2 months earlier, which means 8 months earlier than the original plan.

To successfully energize phase 1 of Long Thanh Airport 110kV Substation and the connection line, is the joint efforts and close coordination of local authorities; Long Thanh International Airport Project Management Board; the active support of professional departments, EVNSPC Scada Operation Center; Southern Power System Control Center, etc.
Ensuring safe and reliable power supply to Long Thanh Airport
Connection line to Long Thanh Airport 110kV Substation
As soon as it goes into operation, the Long Thanh Airport 110kV Substation will ensure a safe, continuous, and quality power supply to the airport. In addition, the work also contributes to reducing the 22kV power supply radius, reducing losses, ensuring voltage quality, improving the reliability of power supply in neighboring areas, and ensuring the N-1 criteria according to the policy of EVN and EVNSPC.
Phase 2 of the project will install a second transformer with a capacity of 40MVA, increasing the total capacity of the substation to 80MVA, expected to be deployed and accepted for operation in the first quarter of 2025.
In addition, Dong Nai PC is also upgrading the Long Thanh - My Xuan 110kV line, to ensure a long-term power supply for Long Thanh Airport.
