The conference was attended by Mr. Do Duc Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union; the Vice Chairmen of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union; leaders of the Group's specialized departments, trade unions of affiliated units, and collectives and individuals who were commended and awarded.

Delegates attending conference summarizing 10 years of activities supporting "Trade Union Shelter" program

Over the past 10 years, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has supported the construction and repair of 590 "Trade Union Shelters," including 493 new houses and 97 repaired houses, with a total cost of over VND 32 billion. This support has been provided through EVN's Social Assistance Fund.

The maximum support level of VND 60 million has been maintained by the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union since 2014 and will be increased to VND 100 million in 2026. In addition, trade unions at various units are also proactively mobilizing additional funds and labour to help workers build and repair their homes.

Many practical approaches have been implemented, such as the "Colleague House" model to support workers who do not yet meet the 10-year service requirement in the electricity industry; interest-free loans from the welfare fund to buy land for housing; and linking the "Trade Union Shelter" program with the construction of Electricity Villages and Electricity Hamlets.

During the period 2026-2036, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union aims to support approximately 500 houses, averaging 50 houses per year, with an estimated resource of around VND 45 billion. Along with this, they will continue to improve mechanisms, procedures, data, and strengthen inspection and supervision so as to ensure the program is implemented more effectively.

On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 9 individuals who have made significant contributions to supporting the "Trade Union Shelter" program for union members and employees in the Group during the period 2016-2026.
