EVNPMB2 was established under Decision No. 305/QD-EVN dated November 22, 2018 issued by Vietnam Electricity. EVNPMB2 is a dependent unit under EVN, being established on the basis of human resources, assets and facilities of Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 2 and Hydropower Project Management Board No. 1.
The PMB is responsible for managing EVN’s investment projects on behalf of EVN and conducting studies, pre-investment activities for projects assigned by EVN. In addition, the PMB undertakes the preparation for operation of power generation projects as assigned by EVN; providing consulting services including project management, feasibility study development, bidding, cost estimation for power grid and generation projects.

At the ceremony, Vietnam Electricity announced the decision on rotating and appointing Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Director of Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 2 to hold the position of Director of Power Project Management Board No. 2 cum Director of Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 2 from December 15, 2018.
Deputy Directors of EVNPMB2 cum Deputy Directors of Hydropower Project Management Board No. 1 include: Mr. Vu Ngoc Phan, Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien and Mr. Tran Van Hao. Deputy Director of EVNPMB2 cum Deputy Director of Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 2 is Mr. Le Anh Duc. Decisions came into effect from December 15, 2018.
At the ceremony, the Party Committee of Vietnam Electricity announced Decision No. 944-QD/DU dated January 8, 2019 on establishment of Party Committee of Power Project Management Board No. 2 under EVN’s Party Committee on the basis of merging the Party Cell of Thermal Power Project Management Board No. 2 and the Party Committee of Hydropower Project Management Board No. 1, including 76 party members.
At the same time, the Party Executive Committee of Power Project Management Board No. 2 was appointed for the term 2019 - 2020 including 6 comrades, among whom Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Director of EVNPMB2 was appointed to be the Party Secretary.
