According to the World Bank's Doing Business 2019, Viet Nam's Getting Electricity indicator in 2018 (87.94 points) achieved the highest ranking ever, standing at 27th out of 190 countries and economies, up 37 levels compared to 2017 rankings. This is also the indicator achieving the best improvement among 10 indicators of the economy.
Viet Nam’s Getting Electricity indicator has improved continuously for the past 5 years. Viet Nam is also the economy having the best improvement in Getting Electricity indicator in the region (from 156th in 2013 to 27th in 2018).
According to the current rankings, Viet Nam has surpassed the Philippines and currently ranked 4th in ASEAN region – i.e. within the ASEAN-4 group.
In order to achieve this result, Vietnam Electricity has implemented drastically and synchronously a series of customer service solutions, with focus on the robust application of digital technology. EVN currently provides electricity services online equivalent to level 4 of public services - the highest level, meeting 100% of online services required by customers and becoming the first infrastructure enterprise in Viet Nam achieving level 4 in delivery of customer services.
Information of electricity service related regulations and procedures is publicly posted on customer service websites by EVN and its subsidiaries. Besides, five Customer Care Centers are available 24/7 through many communication channels such as: call centers, websites, emails, zalo, facebook, etc.
EVN has also fully exploited live-line working technology in maintenance, applied automatic power system control technologies to improve power supply reliability and reduce power outage duration.
In addition, EVN has actively cooperated with state management agencies and local authorities to create an "one - stop" mechanism to help customers easily access electricity.
9 HIGHLIGHTS OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE SECTOR IN 2018:
1. The Party General Secretary visited and worked at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, setting out requirements, tasks and strategic directions for the development of the whole industry in the coming time;
2. The process of restructuring and reforming management methods of the Ministry of Industry and Trade continued taking steady steps and achieved positive results;
3. The XIV National Assembly at the 5th Session adopted the amended Competition Law;
4. The Industry and Trade sector accomplished and exceeded all the targets in the 2018 plan, in which some targets surpassed excessively the planned ones;
5. Viet Nam's Getting Electricity indicator upgraded by 37 levels, ranked 27th in the world and 4th in ASEAN;
6. The XIV National Assembly at the 6th Session ratified the Comprehensive and Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP) with an absolute rate of votes from the National Assembly members, completing the negotiation, conclusion process, and officially putting the agreement into practice;
7. The General Department of Market Surveillance was established in the manner towards formal, modern, streamlined and efficient;
8. Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex was officially put into commercial operation, which processed more than 5 million tons of crude oil to provide the market with products right in the last months of 2018;
9. Some important products of the manufacturing industry were produced by Vietnamese private businesses and officially launched in the market.
