The Vietnamese Consumers Protection Association is established on the basis of separation from the Viet Nam Standard and Consumers Association, aiming to ensure the legality and the full, comprehensive implementation of the contents on protection of consumers’ rights and benefits of social organizations in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Protection of Consumers’ rights and benefits.

Vietnamese Consumers Protection Association consists of 61 local Associations and member organizations throughout the country.
After the voting for passing the operation Charter and direction, the Congress passed the Executive Board of the first term of Viet Nam Consumer Protection Association for the tenure of 2018-2023 including 78 members, including Mr. Vo Quang Lam, Deputy General Director of Viet Nam Electricity.
The Executive Board had its first meeting session right after the establishment and elected 11 comrades to the permanent department of Viet Nam Consumers Protection Association. Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, former Deputy Chairman, General Secretary of Viet Nam Standard and Consumers Association was elected the Head of the department.
In the first tenure, Viet Nam Consumers Protection Association focuses on the following tasks: Propagating and disseminating the law education to raise awareness and consciousness for consumers; organizing consultancy and support to consumers; raising awareness of enterprise community for consumers; organizing training and developing force of staff with prestige and capacity for the Association; promoting international cooperation to share experiences and contribute to the movement of protecting consumers’ rights and benefits in the region and the world, etc.
