Automation in management and operation of power system
Over the past years, all business activities of EVNHCMC have been oriented towards its customers with the “3- easy” criteria: Easy to access services, easy to participate in services, easy to monitor.
The highlight among EVNHCMC’s activities in 2018 is the active participation in Industrial revolution 4.0 through promoting automation in management, operation activities of power system and extensively applying information technology to provide all online services, making it the best convenient for power users.
Up to now, the total number of power users in Ho Chi Minh City has been over 2.4 million customers, increasing by nearly 4% compared with 2017. The reliability of power supply has been properly performed in more than 50% over the same period of previous year. EVNHCMC promotes the application of automation into the operation management of its power system, such as putting Control center and modern Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system/Distribution Management System (SCADA/DMS) into operation, installing and operating over 1,100 remote control switchgears, remotely operating 48/50 unmanned substations, expediting 10 teams of hot-line construction, repair and initially building smart power grid, typically in High-tech zone (District 9), Mieu Noi residential area (Phu Nhuan district), etc.
Over 85% of customers making electronic payment
EVNHCMC has provided 100% of online electricity services. Up to now, the online handling rate has reached nearly 97% of the cases. Through the association between EVNHCMC and collection banks, enterprises; currently, there have been nearly 8,000 electricity payment points in the city, directly serving customers in 24/7 manner.
The rate of electronic payment is currently over 85%. With the breakthrough in power supply procedure reform, EVNHCMC has shortened the time of installing new meters to less than 3 days and stations for special purpose to less than 5 days, which contributes to improving the access-to-electricity index of Viet Nam by 37 levels in 2018 (Viet Nam ranks 27/190 countries and territories - under a survey made by Doing Business - one of the key index for assessing national competitiveness).
Currently, many customers have recognized that the 10 forms in electricity bill payment such as direct payments, payment through the transaction offices of banks, post offices, ATMs, Internet, messages have highly created convenience, people no longer waste their time waiting for payment as before.
The organization of the Conference “Power sector closely accompanying with local authorities, listening to public’s opinions for completion and development” chaired by EVNHCMC and its member companies directly cooperating with local authorities in implementation organizing has helped the Unit to get the questions from agencies, units and individuals about the Power sector; satisfactorily handle such inquiries within the scope of the Sector’s responsibilities or recommend, propose competent authorities to handle issues related to legal, legitimate rights and benefits of the people.
“We highly appreciate the serving spirit of the Power sector” - shared by Mr. Le Tan An, Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee of District 6 on the task of ensuring adequate, safe power supply for social-economic development, security, national defense in the locality in particular and in Ho Chi Minh City in general.
Mr. Le Tan An also highly sympathizes on the emulation program for saving-power family because of its great significance and spreading effect in the community. The district’s leaders also expect that, in the coming time, branches and mass organizations, People’s Committees of wards would coordinate with the Power sector to actively propagandize for power saving, effective usage to people and properly execute the policies, regulations of the laws related to power use.
