EVN President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan meets with leaders of India's Adani Group

On September 24th in Hanoi, Nguyen Anh Tuan, the President and CEO of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), met with the leadership of India's Adani Group to discuss potential cooperation opportunities shortly.

During discussions with EVN's leadership, Ashish Khanna, the CEO of Adani Group's Business Division, extended his sympathies regarding the losses suffered by the people of Vietnam and the damage EVN sustained due to the recent Storm No. 3.

Representatives of the Adani Group provided an overview of the company's business activities and emphasized that Vietnam is one of the countries with significant potential for renewable energy development, which is of particular interest to Adani. Moreover, Adani desired to collaborate with EVN in several areas, including thermal power, electricity transmission, and heat energy in Vietnam.

In response, EVN President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed his gratitude for Adani's support and their willingness to assist those affected by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam.

On behalf of EVN, Mr. Tuan appreciated Adani's interest and invitation for cooperation, adding that EVN is making every effort to accelerate the implementation of the power projects assigned under Power Plan VIII. As such, the Group always welcomes partners interested in investing and cooperating, provided they comply with Vietnamese regulations.

Both sides discussed the challenges and opportunities facing EVN in the current context, while also exploring prospects for future cooperation.

Adani is India's largest energy conglomerate, with 2023 revenues of approximately USD 33 billion, and profits of around USD 29 billion. The Group employs 29,000 staff worldwide.
