EVN is determined to achieve the goal of basically completing digital transformation in 2022

On 19 January 2022, the Steering Committee for Digital Transformation and Technology Application of the 4th Industrial Revolution of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) held its first session in 2022. Mr. Duong Quang Thanh – Chairman of EVN's Member Board chaired the meeting.

In 2021, implementing the theme "Digital transformation in Vietnam Electricity", EVN and its member units have drastically implemented digital transformation in all fields and achieved many remarkable results.

Typically, in the field of administration, EVN has deployed Digital Office software to level 4 units; issued 27,000 electronic identifiers for units to send/receive documents on the national document communication axis; put into use the operating reporting system (BI); completed building an application to serve employees (SmartEVN).

On construction sites, the Group has piloted the application of electronic records management modules, progress management, construction log; surveillance camera system on site. The units have initially completed the AI application and AI models to automatically check, detect anomalies, remote control the construction site and site quality; application of UAV, BIM, 3D technologies in survey, design, etc.

In the field of manufacturing, complete the equipment database, for the 110kV - 500kV power grid reached 100%, power plant block reached 80%. The units have applied QR codes to digitize and set up asset and equipment databases; repair management according to advanced methods such as RCM/CBM.

Many units have piloted applying AI technology in image processing and recognition to monitor line routes, key pole positions or landslides; using UAV in periodical inspection and power grid corridor, unmanned substation; field application (Digital Workforce) for distribution and transmission blocks serving field workers, shortening troubleshooting time, online communication on-site with the operation center, etc.

In particular, in 2021, EVN continues to promote and improve the quality of online electricity service provision at level 4, the rate of transactions power purchase agreements and documents signed by an electronic form of EVN reaches 97.89%, an increase of 20.32% compared to 2020. Deploying new electricity bills payment methods that bring convenience to customers such as QRCode, Mobile Money, thereby increasing the rate of electricity bills non-cash payment of the whole EVN reached 95%. Power corporations have upgraded their website and Customer Care App, expanded customer care channels on digital platforms, etc.

Telecommunications and IT infrastructure that play a key role in the digital transformation process are focused on deploying with 5 key tasks: setting up a cloud computing system (EVN's Cloud); deploying the integration axis and ESB/MDM shared data management; building shared database and data architecture; selecting and building application platform architecture (Platform); building a security operation center (SOC), etc.

In addition, EVN has completed the connection with the national electronic document communication axis and the Government's electronic control center, deployed connection and exploitation of the national population database, connected to transmit and receive electronic invoice data with the General Department of Taxation.

In 2022, EVN plans to basically complete the digital transformation and create a premise to operate under the digital enterprise model by 2025.
