EVN prepares for securing electricity supply to Spratly islands district

During May 8 – 18, 2017, a mission of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) led by Mr. Ngo Son Hai – EVN’s Vice President paid a visit to Spratly islands district (Khanh Hoa province) to encourage cadres, soldiers and people living in Spratly islands and DK1 rigs, at the same time made a field investigation on the electricity supply status in the islands and the rigs, preparing for taking over facilities and securing electricity supply to Spratly islands district.

This is the 13^th mission visiting soldiers and residents in Spratly islands district and DK1 rigs in 2017.

The mission visited cadres and soldiers who are working in 9 islands and DK1/8 rigs (Que Duong) and gave them practical and meaningful presents.

During the voyage, the mission organized a Memorial Ceremony to commemorate heroic martyrs who were sacrificed in Truong Sa archipelago and DK1 rigs; thurified in the Statue of Great King and General Tran Hung Dao, Uncle Ho Memorial House, General Vo Nguyen Giap Park and the Heroic Martyr Monument.

In addition, EVN made investigations to assess the electricity supply status in the islands to prepare for taking over and operating facilities to secure electricity supply in the islands.

During the past years, EVN and their subsidiaries actively collected and subscribed a sum to “The whole country for Truong Sa” movement. In the coming time, EVN will continue extensively and intensively communicating and raising the awareness of their employees about the island and sea strategy of the country, particularly the sovereignty over two archipelagos Spratly Islands and Paracel Islands in the fatherland development and defense cause. In parallel, EVN will launch practical programs and activities to contribute to sustainable protection of the sovereignty over Vietnam’s islands and sea.
