Although the water flow to the reservoir is very low in the dry season months, EVNGENCO2’s hydropower plants continue to operate and regulate water, ensuring sufficient water supply downstream. Specifically, from May to August 2023, hydropower plants under EVNGENCO2 have supplied about 3.5 billion m3 of water to the downstream.
Hydropower block of EVNGENCO2 has performed well task of ensuring water supply downstream and ensuring power supply in the first 8 months of 2023.
At the beginning of August 2023, upstream of the basin of Trung Son Hydropower Reservoir had a big flood with a peak flow of up to 1,791m3. The unit has made the retention effect of the flood peak and retained more than 11 million m3 of water, ensuring safety downstream. Previously, Thac Mo Hydropower Reservoir also recorded a flood with a total water volume of more than 87 million m3. Thac Mo Hydropower Plant has safely operated the reservoir, made the complete retention effect of the flood peak, and retained 64.44 million m3 of water.
For the power production task, as of August 20, the whole EVNGENCO2 has produced more than 9.4 billion kWh of electricity (of which hydropower is more than 2.6 billion kWh, thermal power is more than 6.8 billion kWh), promptly responded to the mobilization request from the National Load Dispatch Center. According to the plan, in 2023, EVNGENCO2 is expected to produce more than 17.7 billion kWh of electricity.
