EVN’s Vice President  Nguyen Xuan Nam works with French Development Agency (AFD)

On the morning of June 6, in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nam – Vice President of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) worked with a delegation of the French Development Agency (AFD) on the implementation progress of AFD-funded projects and AFD/EU-funded technical cooperation programs. The meeting was held in a hybrid format, online and face-to-face.

Attending the meeting, from the AFD side, there was Mr. Arnaud Dubrac - Regional Energy Project Team Leader, AFD Bangkok; Mr. Florent Germain, who will succeed Mr. Arnaud Dubrac from August 2023; Mr. Hugo Pierrel - Deputy Director of AFD Vietnam.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed the progress of and problem-solving solutions for AFD-funded projects and AFD/EU-funded technical cooperation programs, including Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Extension, Ialy Hydropower Plant Extension, the Southern Power Grid Project, the Power Transmission Project of the National Power Transmission Corporation; technical cooperations associated with the loans, the technical cooperation in energy transition and innovation, Digital Energy Facility funded technical cooperations, etc.

The two sides reviewed the execution of commitments/undertakings stated in credit facility agreements, especially those related to environmental and social management; due diligence, and appraisal of new loans for Bac Ai Pumped-Storage Hydropower Project.

EVN’s Vice President Nguyen Xuan Nam thanked Mr. Arnaud Dubrac for his active and effective contribution to the arrangement and implementation of AFD's loans and technical cooperation programs for EVN in the past time; At the same time, he welcomed Mr. Florent Germain and hoped that he would continue to support and cooperate closely with EVN during the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two sides.

Mr. Arnaud Dubrac - Regional Energy Project Team Leader, AFD Bangkok, expressed his gratitude to EVN and shared that he was very pleased to have worked and cooperated with EVN and its member units for the past 4 years.

Before that, from May 31 to June 5, the AFD's delegation worked directly with Power Project Management Boards No.1, 2, 3, the Southern Power Corporation, and EVN’s functional departments on cooperation agreements.
