Enhancing electricity supply for Bac Kan province

The 220kV – 125MVA transformers (AT1) of Bac Kan 220kV substation (Ha Vi commune, Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province) has been energized and put into operation by related organizations.

The energizing of this project helps improve quality of electricity, reliability and stable of the local power system; limit power loss on the transmission grid.

Bac Kan 220kV substation receives 220kV electricity from Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant (Tuyen Quang province), Nho Que 1, 2, 3 hydropower plants (Ha Giang province) to supply electricity for 110kV loads in Bac Kan province. At the same time, it supplies electricity at 220kV voltage to Cao Bang and Thai Nguyen provinces.

This project is under a general project named "Installation of 220kV transformer for Bac Kan 220kV substation, the second one for Son Tay 220kV substation, the second one for Nho Quan 500kV substation, the second one for Phu Tho 220kV substation, the third one for Van Tri 220kV substation". The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation, with a total investment cost of over VND 468 billion.

On July 17, 2019, the installation of the second transformer in Son Tay 220kV substation was completed.
