Ensuring power supply for Dac Chung people (Lao PDR) to celebrate Bunpimay festival

Bringing electricity to the border areas.

With borrowings, the Central Region Power Corporation (EVNCPC) invested and assigned Quang Nam Power Company to supply power in a safe and stable manner to the people in Dac Chung border district (Lao PDR). PC Quang Nam connected 80 km-long medium voltage power line from Ben Giang T-junction, alongside 14D road, carrying power to Dac Oc - Dac Ta Oc border gates and supplying power to communes locating alongside 14D road such as Ta Poo, Ta Bhing, Cha val, La Dee, etc.

In Bunpimay festival (14-16/4), a power purchase agreement to sell power to Dac Chung district between EVNCPC and Electricity of Laos (EDL) has been established. After having finalized relevant procedures, both parties expedited construction of the project parts in their territories.

Accordingly, EVNCPC has continued to invest nearly tens of billions VND to rehabilitate and upgrade more than 10 km long power line of Thanh My 471/220 kV feeder, particularly connecting La De Border Post to the border; relocating the line near the border to avoid crossing primitive forests; constructing one medium voltage measuring station and one voltage automatic regulating station.

Se Kong province also has made great efforts in investing nearly 30 km long low voltage power line and four substations to bring electricity to the centre of Dac Chung border district.

22 kV Quang Nam – Dac Chung power line project has been completed and put into commissioning since the end of 2009, together with the inauguration of great milestone 717 at Dac Oc border gate. The establishment of this power line is one of the efforts in building up the ever increasingly close and sustainable friendship between Vietnam – Lao PDR, between Se Kong and Quang Nam; at the same time with a view to developing Dac Oc border gate into an important international border gate in the East – West Economic Corridor.

PC Quang Nam actively allocated manpower to be on duty 24/24h in order to secure safe and stable power supply for Laos’ people during Bunpimay festival.

Until now, the commercial power output that Quang Nam has sold to Dac Chung district attained in total 4 million kWh, in 2015 only, the figure was 1.047 million kWh, increasing by 17% compared with 2014.

Over the seven recent years, the power current from Dac Oc border gate to Dac Chung district have always been assured in good quality, safety, creating a motivation for socio – economic development of the people in the border area.
