In line with Vietnam's commitments to the energy transition and net zero emissions by 2050, AFD has been considering expanding support to EVN through new concessional loans, as well as the exchange of technical experience with stakeholders in the near future.

AFD is a prominent financier of EVN with concessional non-sovereign loans for clean energy and renewable energy projects such as Hoa Binh HPP Extension, Ialy HPP Extension, Se San 4 Solar Farm, grid projects to absorb renewable energy capacity such as the Southern Power Grid project. AFD's loans have contributed to supporting EVN to effectively solve financial arrangement challenges, enhancing the diversity of financial sources, and optimizing financing costs without increasing public debts of the Government of Vietnam.
