Thai Binh TPP reaches output milestone of 20 billion kWh

At 11:52 a.m. on August 23, 2023, Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant (Thai Binh TPP) reached the output milestone of 20 billion kWh (at generator’s terminals), contributing to the safe and continuous power supply to the national power system, serving economic development, and maintaining energy security.

Thai Binh TPP is managed and operated by Thai Binh Thermal Power Company (Thai Binh TPC), scaled of two units with a total installed capacity of 600MW (2x300MW) and put into commercial operation in April 2018. The plant was commenced on February 22, 2014, in My Loc commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province, and invested by Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

According to Mr. Ta Trung Kien - Director of Thai Binh TPC, after more than 5 years of operation, the plant has reached 20 billion kWh of electricity (measured at generator’s terminals), equivalent to over 18 billion kWh of commercial electricity; at the same time, contributing to the State budget of Thai Binh province nearly VND 1,000 billion. Since put into operation, the plant has operated stably and safely and ensured the ecological environment.

Thai Binh TPC aims to continue to safely and stably operate the units; and complete the assigned economic-technical targets.
