The Cuban side was represented by Mr. Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz - Minister of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment as the head of the delegation; Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada - Consulate General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Vilma Sánchez Sempé - Director of Trade Policy with Asia and Oceania (The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment); Ms. Irmina del Pilar Perojo - Economic and Commercial Counselor.
On behalf of the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam, there was Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh - Director of the International Cooperation Department; Ms. Pham Thi Hong My - Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department. On the side of EVNPECC2, there was Mr. Nguyen Chon Hung - Chairman of EVNPECC2's Member Board, and Mr. Vo Van Binh - President and CEO of EVNPECC2.
EVNPECC2 is one of the leading brands in Vietnam in the field of electricity construction consulting and is also one of the pioneers in the research and development of renewable energy projects. According to Mr. Nguyen Chon Hung, Chairman of EVNPECC2's Member Board, EVNPECC2 is ready to support the Cuban Electricity Union (UNE) in the design, development planning, and energy construction investment in Cuba.
The working session between EVNPECC2 and the delegation of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment
Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz said that Cuba is currently working hard to develop various forms of renewable energy to transform the current structure of power generation and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Cuba has set a target to increase the share of renewable energy to 24% of its electricity generation by 2030 and planned to use renewable energy to replace the use of 1.75 million tons of fossil fuels per year. Realizing the potential of Vietnam in general and the capacity of EVNPECC2 in particular in developing renewable energy projects, the Cuban representative expressed his wish that the two sides could carry out relevant cooperation agreements.

Also within the framework of the meeting, the Minister of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment and the delegation visited the OCC-EVNPECC2 Remote Power Plant Operation Center. This is the first remote control power plant operation center in Vietnam, which not only performs the monitoring function but also allows forecasting the operating status of the power plant, remote controlling, opening and closing of equipment, changing operation parameters, and thereby optimizing the operation mode, ensuring safety, reducing the number of workers, saving costs and ensuring efficient plant operation.
At the end of the visit and working session at EVNPECC2, Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz thanked the leaders of EVNPECC2 and expressed his belief in realizing the contents of cooperation between UNE and EVNPECC2 in the near future.
