The product 'Make by EVN' aimed to prevent and combat COVID-19

Disinfectant spraying robots, automatic body temperature meters with QR code scanning for medical declarations, automatic disinfection chambers, etc., are inventions/solutions by units in the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to contribute to the prevention and combat of COVID-19. These products also show the initiative in applying science and technology, initially bringing the achievements of Industry 4.0 to serve the work and life of EVN.

Robots spray disinfectant and transport to support the pandemic prevention

The robot is designed with 04 wheels, in90cm length, 60cm width, 35cm height, remotely controlled by radio signal. The remote control range up to nearly 01 km (can be extended with a larger signal transceiver). A CCTV system transmits directly to the operator, making it convenient to control when the view of the device is limited. This is a technological product of Power Transmission Company No. 2 under the National Power Transmission Corporation.

Robots can also transport necessities to supply isolated or highly separated areas (substations) during the peak of the epidemic.

During the recent outbreaks of COVID-19, PTC2 has used disinfectant spraying robots at the office, 220kV and 500kV substations under the management of PTC2. The robots shall support spraying disinfectant at hospital 199 – Ministry of Public Security, the City of Danang; support in transporting essentials for operating forces who are isolated at substations.

Efficient robots have replaced humans in dangerous jobs. This product won the second prize at the Armed Forces Technical Innovation Contest in Ho Chi Minh Da Nang  City for the sixth time, 2021.

The group of engineers at the Center for Production of Electronic Measuring Equipments in Central Vietnam (CPCEMEC - Central Power Corporation) has built an automatic body temperature measuring device.

This thermometer includes many outstanding features such as non-contact temperature measurement, the automatic announcement of measurement results by voice through the loudspeaker and displays through the screen system; alarm, control information by sound if the temperature exceeds the temperature threshold set at 37 degrees. At the same time, the system also manages the daily body temperature of each person by software; retrieves images and times of individuals whose body temperature exceeds the regulated level.

In June 2021, 15 automatic body temperature measuring devices manufactured by CPCEMEC were officially donated and handed over to use by EVNCPC at epidemic control points in Da Nang City. Then, at the beginning of July 2021, at the request of the authorities, CPCEMEC integrated the QR code scanning feature of the medical declaration into the meters to control the people's medical declaration information. When going through the quarantine checkpoints. Accordingly, the declarant completes the medical declaration check by having body temperature measured and scanning the medical declaration via QR code in front of the camera of the meter.

Automatic disinfection chamber

Stemming from the actual requirements amid the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dak Nong Power Transmission Youth Union (Power Transmission Company No. 3) has successfully implemented the idea, design and construction, and installation of Automatic Disinfection Chamber. Currently, this product has been put into use at the 500kV Dak Nong Substation (in Gia NghiaCity, Dak Nong Province).

The device is composed of 5 main parts, including 1 vertical rectangular block chamber with an entrance and exit; The mist generator helps to create a disinfecting steam stream; Control system, indicator lights; Proximity sensor activates and the disinfecting steam system directs the mist flow to a location around the body.

When someone enters the disinfection chamber, the proximity sensor will activate the system to operate automatically. In addition, the manual push-button can be used to start up the sterilization mode when needed.
