Chairman of EVN Board of Directors Dang Hoang An: EVNGENCO2 needs to improve power generation efficiency and accelerate investment

Speaking at the Conference on reviewing the 2025 performance and deploying tasks for 2026 of Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO2) on January 10 in Can Tho, Mr. Dang Hoang An – Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) – requested EVNGENCO2 to continue ensuring safety and stability in power generation, improve production and business efficiency, accelerate investment in power generation projects, and speed up digital transformation to meet the Group’s development requirements in the coming period.

Attending the Conference on reviewing the 2025 performance and deploying tasks for 2026 of Power Generation Corporation 2 were Mr. Ha Vu Son – Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City.

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) was represented by: Mr. Dang Hoang An – Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Pham Le Phu – Member of the Party Executive Committee, Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuoc – Member of the Party Executive Committee, Vice President; Mr. Do Duc Hung – Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union; Ms. Do Thi Loat – Head of the EVN Supervisory Board; together with representatives of leaders of the Group’s functional departments.

Three key tasks

The Party Secretary and Chairman of the EVN Board of Directors emphasized that, entering 2026, EVNGENCO2 needs to focus on effectively implementing three key tasks. First and foremost is ensuring a safe and stable electricity supply to meet socio-economic development requirements. In addition, the Corporation needs to continue promoting investment and construction, enhancing the capacity of existing power plants, and ensuring the progress of assigned projects. At the same time, it must maintain and improve production and business efficiency, ensure profitability, and contribute to the overall achievements of the Group.

In addition to the key tasks, the Party Secretary and Chairman of the EVN requested EVNGENCO2 to focus on synchronously implementing a number of important measures, including: reducing fuel consumption and auxiliary power use; fulfilling environmental protection requirements; ensuring the progress of power source projects; further improving internal governance in a streamlined and efficient manner; accelerating digital transformation; and renewing personnel work, creating conditions for young staff to fully develop their capabilities.

Ready for breakthrough in 2026 tasks

In production and business operations, EVNGENCO2 basically fulfilled the targets assigned by EVN; power generation activities were maintained in a safe and stable manner, with total electricity output reaching 16,052 million kWh, equivalent to 101% of the plan. Investment and construction work recorded many positive results, with power plant projects implemented on schedule. The Corporation’s financial position remained stable, with financial indicators ensuring safety and soundness.
