During the meeting, the two sides discussed several topics, including the application of smart technologies in the power sector and the development of nuclear power generation, among others.

Both parties expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation, provide mutual support, and share experiences in order to enhance operational efficiency and promote the development of future power projects between EVN and KEPCO.

Mr. Dang Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN, expressed appreciation to KEPCO for maintaining a close partnership with EVN over the years and highly valued KEPCO’s proposal to strengthen cooperation and invest in the development of smart power transmission in the electricity sector alongside EVN.

Mr. Dang Hoang An also proposed that both sides establish a specialized working group to enhance cooperation further and facilitate the exchange of experiences and expertise.

KEPCO is the national electric utility of South Korea, currently operating a total capacity of 83GW (with the national capacity reaching approximately 150GW). In addition, KEPCO is actively involved in power plant operation and maintenance, research activities, technical consulting, and other fields. In Vietnam, KEPCO is investing in BOT projects such as Nghi Son 2 and Vung Ang 2.

Over the years, KEPCO and EVN have signed cooperation agreements, including many programs for experience sharing and personnel training. KEPCO has organized various training courses for EVN managers and specialists, while EVN has encouraged KEPCO to expand its investment and development of power transmission in Vietnam.
