Chairman of EVN Board of Directors Dang Hoang An meets with Sembcorp (Singapore) to strengthen strategic energy cooperation

On the afternoon of January 16 in Hanoi, Mr. Dang Hoang An – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) – received and held a working session with Mr. Koh Chiap Khion – CEO of Sembcorp (Singapore) to review the progress of bilateral cooperation and discuss directions for future collaboration.

At the meeting, Mr. Koh Chiap Khion expressed his sincere appreciation for EVN’s close coordination and facilitation, which has enabled the effective implementation of joint initiatives between the two parties. Sembcorp reaffirmed its commitment to viewing Vietnam as a strategic market in the region and expressed its strong desire to continue partnering with EVN in the energy sector – particularly in clean energy and advanced solutions to enhance power system operational efficiency.

Working session between EVN leadership and Sembcorp Group (Singapore)

EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An acknowledged and highly appreciated Sembcorp’s role and contributions in joint projects in Vietnam, notably the Phu My 3 BOT power plant project. In March 2024, the Phu My 3 BOT power plant was officially transferred to EVN for continued management, operation, and exploitation after the expiration of the BOT contract. Sembcorp was one of the key investors involved in this landmark project in Vietnam

EVN leadership affirmed the Group's continued commitment to strengthening partnerships with capable and experienced international partners. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation in ensuring system safety and reliability, developing renewable energy, and training high-quality human resources.

Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication channels, exchange information, and jointly explore suitable cooperation opportunities as a foundation for advancing collaboration programs in the upcoming phase.
