Completion of national grid electrification to last village in Binh Dinh Province

On April 26, at Canh Lien Commune, Van Canh District, Binh Dinh Province, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) and Binh Dinh Power Company (Binh Dinh PC), in coordination with local authorities, held an inauguration ceremony for the project supplying electricity to Canh Tien Village from the national power grid. With this, the last "dark zone" of Binh Dinh Province has been electrified, marking a milestone where 100% of the province’s households now have access to electricity.

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Binh Dinh Province were Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh – Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Representing the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) was Mr. Ngo Tan Cu – General Director of EVNCPC, and Mr. Thai Minh Chau – Director of Binh Dinh Power Company.

Crossing mountains and lakes to bring electricity to village

Following the directive of the Provincial People's Committee, EVNCPC and Binh Dinh PC made great efforts, crossing forests and lakes, to implement the project to supply national grid electricity to Canh Tien village.
On December 17, 2024, the construction to supply power to Canh Tien village commenced. The total investment was VND 11 billion, with Binh Dinh PC as the project owner. The project involved the construction of 12.9km of 22kV medium-voltage transmission lines, 2.2km of 0.23kV low-voltage lines, three new substations with a total capacity of 137.5kVA, and the installation of 100% remote electronic meters for all households.

After more than four months of rapid construction, by April 26, 2025, the project was officially energized and put into operation—four months ahead of schedule.

Notably, along with extending the electricity network to the village, EVNCPC and Binh Dinh PC sponsored the entire cost of wiring from the meters to the homes and provided indoor lighting systems for all 188 households of Canh Tien village.

Electricity lights up bright future for local people

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province – stated that 100% of households across the province now have access to electricity.

Chairman Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that this achievement will create favorable conditions for local residents to develop production, contribute to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, build new-style rural areas, ensure political security stability, and strengthen the great national unity bloc.

Mr. Ngo Tan Cu – General Director of EVNCPC – shared: "The power supply project to Canh Tien village is a clear testament to the power sector’s determination to realize the goal of bringing light to remote areas. For us, this is not just a professional duty but also a community mission. As of now, 100% of households in Binh Dinh Province have access to electricity. Moving forward, EVNCPC and Binh Dinh PC will continue to accompany and support the local people in using electricity economically, safely, and efficiently. We are committed to ensuring a stable operation and regularly inspecting the electrical system to give people peace of mind in their daily lives and economic development."

The project was energized and put into operation in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30), and towards the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) (October 7, 1975 – October 7, 2025).
