Dang Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), held a meeting with Mr. Bi Shifang, Chairman of China Huadian Engineering Co., Ltd. (CHEC), in Hanoi on 26 August.

During the meeting, EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An acknowledged CHEC's effective cooperation in the operation and maintenance of Duyen Hai 2 Thermal Power Plant, as well as its efforts to complete and bring the entire Dak Lak Wind Power Project into commercial operation in July 2026, thereby contributing to ensuring a reliable electricity supply for Vietnam's power system.
Against the backdrop of Vietnam's double-digit socio-economic growth targets and the resulting substantial investment needs for new power generation capacity, the EVN Chairman encouraged well-resourced partners such as CHEC to continue exploring investment opportunities in Vietnam in the coming period. He also affirmed that EVN would provide the greatest possible support within its mandate to facilitate CHEC's efforts to advance energy transition projects, contributing to Vietnam's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
CHEC Chairman Bi Shifang thanked EVN for its continued cooperation and support and expressed the company's desire to further expand cooperation in areas where the Group has particular strengths.
CHD currently operates across several key areas, including power generation, power engineering solutions, and research and development of new energy technologies. The Group is also planning to install what would be Vietnam's first carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) system at Duyen Hai 2 Thermal Power Plant.
