EVN President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan meets with Huawei

On the afternoon of November 27 in Ho Chi Minh City, on the sidelines of the 2025 National Conference on Science and Technology in the Electricity Sector, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – President and CEO of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) – received and held a working session with a delegation from Huawei Technologies (China).

The Huawei delegation included Mr. Jacky Wang – Vice President for Digital Power, Mr. Ivan Liu – General Director of Huawei Vietnam, Mr. Jack Rong – Director of Enterprise Solutions for Southeast Asia, and Mr. Jason Wu – Director of Digital Energy Solutions for Southeast Asia.

 

On this occasion, Huawei presented its core technologies and solutions in the fields of digital transformation of the power sector and new energy. The company expressed its willingness to share experiences with EVN in high-level digital transformation planning, the development of smart distribution grids, the deployment of private wireless networks, and high-reliability transmission networks. Huawei also proposed to collaborate with EVN on developing technical standards for grid-connected solar power, energy efficiency, and energy transition technologies.

In addition, Huawei expressed readiness to provide expert teams in energy storage, technical standards, grid simulation and testing, and to organize training programs and technical visits to its energy storage laboratory in Shanghai. Huawei reaffirmed its strong interest in deepening cooperation with EVN across mutually prioritized areas.

President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan welcomed Huawei’s participation in the 2025 National Power Science and Technology Conference and highly appreciated the company's technological capabilities and expertise in power sector digitalization, smart grids, energy storage, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.

Leaders from both sides agreed to assign their respective technical departments to continue detailed discussions and jointly develop cooperation programs and projects in the near future.

President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that EVN always attaches great importance to partnerships with leading technology firms like Huawei, which play a key role in enhancing EVN’s capabilities in power system management and operations, contributing to the Group’s mission of ensuring reliable power supply for Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
