EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh works with Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee on national grid power supply project for Con Dao District

On May 23, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh - Vice President of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) - and his working delegation held a meeting with leaders of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee regarding the national grid power supply project for Con Dao District.

In attendance at the meeting were Mr. Le Ngoc Khanh - Vice Chairman of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from relevant provincial departments and agencies.

On EVN’s side, participants included Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh - Vice President of EVN, representatives from EVN’s professional departments, and members of the Power Project Management Board No.3 (EVNPMB3).

The project to supply electricity from the national grid to Con Dao District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, has a total investment capital of over VND 4,923 billion, with EVN as the project owner and EVNPMB3 as the investor’s representative. On December 12, 2024, EVN and the consortium of PC1 Group Joint Stock Company and Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 4 (PC1-PECC4 Joint Venture) signed the contract package HH01-DZCD for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of the submarine cable section under the project.

According to a report from EVNPMB3, with the active support and cooperation of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee, as well as relevant departments, agencies, and localities, EVN and EVNPMB3 have completed the site clearance for the project. Currently, EVN and EVNPMB3 are making concerted efforts to energize the project by September 2, 2025, in line with the Prime Minister’s directive.

As for construction progress to date, on the overhead transmission line segment in Soc Trang Province, foundations have been cast at 20 out of 32 positions, towers have been erected at 9 positions, and conductor stringing has been completed across 4 spans. For the submarine cable segment, cable laying from the Con Dao side is expected to begin on June 8, 2025, with a total length of over 77km.
