During the meeting, Dr. Sergei Sergeevich Chernov, Vice-Rector and head of the delegation from NSTU, stated that the university currently has over 17,000 students enrolled in fields such as information technology, computer science, automation, energy, and materials science. With over 70 years of experience, NSTU is one of Russia's leading technical universities, maintaining a research collaboration network with major energy corporations such as RusHydro and Rosatom.
“We aim to gain a deeper understanding of EVN's needs to establish a long-term cooperation roadmap, implement specialized, practical training programs, and meet the modernization demands of Vietnam’s energy sector," shared Dr. Sergei Sergeevich Chernov.

EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam expressed appreciation for the long-standing cooperation between EVN and Russian educational institutions, particularly in training energy engineers in previous years. He emphasized: "Many key power plants designed and equipped by the Soviet Union have been operating stably for 30-40 years, ensuring national energy security. However, amid modernization efforts, EVN is eager to retrain engineers currently operating thermal and hydropower plants to meet increasingly stringent technical requirements."
In addition, EVN is particularly interested in information technology, cybersecurity for critical infrastructure, and nuclear energy.
As an immediate step, both parties agreed to organize an online seminar on power system quality improvement technology in February 2025.

EVN leaders also proposed that NSTU explore and establish scholarship programs to support the education of Vietnam’s future engineers. The goal is to ensure that cooperation programs not only enhance the skills of the current workforce but also focus on training and developing a new generation of experts, contributing to national energy security and promoting the modernization of Vietnam's power sector.
