Energizing 220kV transmission line project to serve import of electricity from Laos to Vietnam

On 26 November 2025, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), in coordination with the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB) and relevant units, successfully energized the Tuong Duong–Do Luong 220kV transmission line project.
The project is invested in by EVNNPT, managed by CPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1. The line runs through the communes of Tam Quang, Chau Khe, Con Cuong, Mon Son, Vinh Tuong, Anh Son, Yen Xuan, Cat Ngan, and Do Luong in Nghe An province.
The construction investment project comprises two new 220kV transmission lines, with a total length of approximately 80.66km. Investment in expanding 2 220kV bays on the land area west of the existing Do Luong 220kV substation. The 220kV bay expansion at the Do Luong 220kV substation was carried out on the land to the west of the existing substation in Do Luong commune, Nghe An province.

Relevant units witnessing moment of energizing project
After completion, the project will help increase the stability of power supply for the load in Nghe An province; release capacity from the Nam Mo Hydropower Plant Cluster in Laos, Nam Mo 1, My Ly Hydropower Plant, and small and medium hydropower plants in the area through the Tuong Duong 220kV substation to the national power system.
