Recently, two significant cooperation agreements were signed between Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (PECC2) and First Solar in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City. These agreements pertain to potential collaboration under the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism and the supply of solar energy modules.
This event marks a notable milestone in the strategic partnership between PECC2 and First Solar, a leading U.S. solar energy technology corporation.
According to the two agreements, PECC2 will become a strategic partner in the distribution and utilization of First Solar’s solar modules for future projects.
Additionally, through the DPPA mechanism, PECC2 will provide clean, green electricity at competitive costs, contributing to First Solar’s gradual achievement of its global target to operate entirely on renewable energy by 2028.

The event also included a visit by the PECC2 delegation to First Solar’s solar module manufacturing facility at the Dong Nam Industrial Park in Ho Chi Minh City.
This signing ceremony plays a pivotal role in fostering a long-term relationship between First Solar and PECC2. Notably, it represents PECC2’s second DPPA-based agreement, following its previous partnership with fashion giant H&M. This underscores PECC2’s strong commitment to and increasing involvement in the DPPA mechanism, paving the way for new opportunities in the sustainable development of renewable energy in Vietnam.
First Solar is a member of RE100, a global initiative led by the Climate Group in collaboration with CDP, which encourages businesses to commit to using 100% renewable energy.
