People may donate blood voluntarily for different reasons, but what keeps them committed year after year is the desire to share and give others a better chance at life by donating blood to those in need of treatment.
Few people know that Ms. Lai Thi Kim Thu, a specialist in the Human Resources Department of Lao Cai Power Company, one of the 100 delegates of "Outstanding Blood Donors Nationwide in 2026," used to be very afraid of needles. That fear led to an unforgettable experience during her first blood donation when she was a second-year student at Hanoi National University.

Ms. Lai Thi Kim Thu, from Lao Cai Power Company having donated blood voluntarily nearly 40 times.
Overcoming that first challenge, Ms. Thu has maintained regular blood donation for many years. To date, after nearly 25 years, she has donated blood voluntarily almost 40 times, with many memorable experiences.
While Ms. Thu is motivated by empathy for patients she has never met, for Mr. Nguyen Duc Thai, Deputy Head of the Technical Department of Thai Nguyen Power Company, the journey of blood donation began with his own family’s story.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thai, of the Thai Nguyen Power Company honored as exemplary individual in blood donation movement and voluntary blood donation campaign in Thai Nguyen province in 2026.
From 2000 to the present, he has donated blood approximately 25 times.
This spirit has continued to spread throughout EVN through numerous social welfare activities, most notably the annual "EVN Pink Week" blood donation program, which has been held since 2015. Over more than 10 seasons, the program has received over 94,000 units of blood, making a significant contribution to the blood supply for treatment and emergency care at many medical facilities nationwide.
