This was one of the main topics of the workshop held on the morning of March 18 with the participation of EVN's professional departments and power generation corporations, thermal power companies/plants in EVN.
The workshop was chaired by EVN’s Technical Operation Department, aiming to review the operation performance of coal-fired thermal power plants (TPP) in 2024 and the first months of 2025. This was also an opportunity to share experiences and discuss solutions to ensure the reliability of coal-fired thermal power plants among member units in EVN.
In addition, lessons learned and advanced technological solutions that have been applied in the world were also exchanged and discussed at the workshop.

Mr. Le Viet Hung - Head of EVN Technical Operation Department chairs workshop.
EVN currently has 9 coal-fired thermal power plants in the Northern region and 5 in the Southern region. Of these, there are 2 power plants with a capacity of less than 110MW each, 6 plants with 300-330MW capacity each, 1 plant of 540MW, 1 plant of 600MW, and 4 plants with a capacity of over 600MW each.
In 2024, coal-fired thermal power plants in the entire national power system contributed the largest output among all types of power sources, with over 152.77 billion kWh.
