The project, implemented in Mai Son and Yen Chau communes, Son La province, involves the construction of a 500kV substation with a capacity of 1,800MVA, and the installation of 500kV and 220kV equipment and devices for connecting the transformer and 500kV transmission lines according to the revised Power Development Plan VIII approved by the Prime Minister.

Connection line section: Construction of two 500kV double-circuit transmission line sections connecting to the Son La - Hoa Binh and Son La - Nho Quan 500kV transmission lines, approximately 4km long each.

The project aims to strengthen the interconnection of the power system, ensure safe operation of the power grid, improve the reliability of electricity supply, stabilize the regional power grid, and relieve the capacity constraints of renewable energy power plants in Son La province; reduce power losses in the transmission grid, thereby increasing the business efficiency of EVN and EVNNPT. According to the schedule, the project is expected to be completed and commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2027.

The National Power Transmission Corporation fulfills its responsibilities as an investor in accordance with the Regulations on Coordination between Agencies in Appraisal, Management, and Supervision of Investment Projects in Son La Province, issued together with Decision No. 1118/QD-UBND dated June 1, 2021, of the People's Committee of Son La Province.

Proactively contact the People's Committee of Mai Son Commune, the People's Committee of Yen Chau Commune, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Construction, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and other relevant agencies to carry out the subsequent legal procedures of the project in accordance with regulations.

The departments, agencies, and People's Committees of Mai Son and Yen Chau communes, according to their respective functions and duties, shall: manage state affairs related to the project's activities and guide investors through the subsequent legal procedures for project implementation, ensuring compliance with the law.

People's Committees of Mai Son and Yen Chau communes: Review and guide EVNNPT in carrying out procedures for land recovery and leasing, and changing land use purposes for the project, ensuring compliance with the law.
