On March 31, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), the Southern Power Projects Management Board (SPMB), in coordination with the Southern Power System Dispatch Center (SSO), successfully energized the Go Cong 220kV Substation Project and the Go Cong - Can Duoc 220kV connection line (Dong Thap Province).
In this phase, the Go Cong 220kV Substation is equipped with one transformer (AT1), with space reserved for two additional transformers in the future. On the 220kV side, the substation is designed with 11 bays, of which equipment has been installed for 4 bays, with 7 reserved. On the 110kV side, there are 20 bays, with 11 installed and 9 reserved. The control, protection, metering, communication, and SCADA systems are synchronously installed, meeting current standards and regulations of EVN and EVNNPT.
The 220kV connection line has been newly constructed in a double-circuit configuration, linking the Go Cong 220kV Substation to the Can Duoc 220kV Substation, with a total length of approximately 27km.

After being put into operation, the project will contribute to ensuring a stable power supply for loads in Dong Thap Province and surrounding areas, meeting socio-economic development needs. At the same time, it helps reduce the load on existing 220/110kV transformers and the 110kV grid in the region, improve power supply reliability in accordance with the N-1 criterion, and enhance the capacity to absorb output from renewable energy sources.
This is a Grade I energy project, Group B, invested by EVNNPT, with SPMB acting on behalf of the investor for project management and execution. Upon completion, the project is handed over to Power Transmission Company No. 4 for operation and management.
