Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company operates reservoirs safely, reaches electricity output in 2025 early

On October 17, in Tuyen Quang, Member of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) Dinh The Phuc worked with Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company on dam safety management and plant operations in the last months of 2025.

According to the report made by Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company, the hydrological situation in 2025 is complicated with heavy rains due to the impact of storms No. 10 (BUALOI) and No. 11 (MATMO). The company's reservoir operations are in compliance with the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure approved by the Prime Minister, ensuring the safety of the project and downstream. Disaster prevention and control work is maintained 24/24, closely coordinating with local authorities during the process of closing and opening the spillway. In electricity production, the company has operated generators following dispatch requirements, proactively proposing methods to effectively exploit water resources. Electricity output by October 16, 2025, reached 1,336.3 million kWh, equal to 112.6% of the annual plan assigned by EVN. All economic and technical indicators have met and surpassed the Group's regulations.

Regarding the major repair work, in 2025, the company will implement 17 categories, of which 12 have been completed so far, and the remaining items are continuing to be implemented as planned. Regarding construction investment work, 10 items implemented during the year have all signed contracts; it is expected to complete and put into use 9/10 projects in 2025.

During the floods in late September and early October due to the impact of storms No. 10 and 11, the company carried out flood discharge regulation operations in accordance with the direction of State management agencies and regulations on safe operation of works.

In the last months of the year, the company aims to continue operating generators and work in accordance with procedures, ensuring absolute safety for equipment and downstream areas; proactively proposing reasonable mobilization methods to improve power generation efficiency. In the repair work, the remaining maintenance and overhaul items will be implemented on schedule, minimizing downtime.

Speaking at the meeting, Member of EVN’s Board of Directors Dinh The Phuc acknowledged the efforts of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company in operating the reservoir safely according to the correct procedures, especially during the recent heavy rains and floods, and highly appreciated the results of electricity production exceeding the 2025 plan.
