Not only at work, the spirit of “Think Safe – Work Safe – Go Home Safe” has become a daily way of life, spreading strongly among every employee. The story of employees Lê Huu Đuc and Nguyen Vu Thanh Tung serves as a prime example of that very spirit.

Bravely extinguishing fire, rescuing people amid risk of explosion

On the afternoon of 8 April 2025, at Km98 of National Highway 20, Bao Loc Pass (Lam Dong), a serious traffic accident occurred when a tanker truck carrying chemicals collided with 3 other vehicles, causing the tanker truck to overturn, chemicals spilled onto the road, with a very high risk of fire and explosion.

At that time, Mr. Le Huu Duc - the driver of the Bao Loc Power Transmission Team (under Lam Dong Power Transmission) was waiting for a group of workers working on the route near the scene, and quickly used the fire extinguisher on the vehicle to rush in and extinguish the rising flames.

Without stopping, he mobilized surrounding vehicles to get more fire extinguishers, completely controlling the risk of fire and explosion, and protecting the lives and property of people and vehicles on the pass. After extinguishing the fire, he also in coordination with the local residents rescues safely the person trapped inside vehicles.

Wholeheartedly helping those in distress on way back

Previously, on the afternoon of 28 March 2025, on the DT714 route from Dong Giang commune to Ma Lam town (Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province), Mr. Nguyen Vu Thanh Tung - a youth union member, an employee of the Phan Thiet Power Transmission Team (Binh Thuan Power Transmission) on his way home from work, witnessed a motorbike accident caused by the driver falling off the vehicle at a sharp turn.

Immediately, Mr. Tung stopped the vehicle, approached the victim, and performed first aid with the skills he had been trained in the unit. After that, he proactively called a taxi to the scene, instructing the victim's family to take him to the provincial hospital. During the waiting time, he and the people helped to keep the scene safe, creating favorable conditions for emergency work.
