Recognition of Chemical Laboratory Team under Chemical Workshop of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant as meeting requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 marks new step forward in plant's efforts to protect environment and enhance its economic efficiency.

According to Mr. Vu Thanh Hai, Director of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, the analysis and testing of coal and oil samples play an important role in the plant's operation. Accurate analytical results provide a basis for assessing fuel quality, effectively controlling production, monitoring environmental emission indicators, and helping extend the service life of the boiler-turbine-generator system.

Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant has a total installed capacity of 1,800MW, making it the largest-capacity power plant in the Vinh Tan Power Centre. The recognition of its Chemical Laboratory Team under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 will enhance the reliability of test results and data used for the management and operation of the plant.

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is an international standard specifying general requirements for the technical competence and management systems of testing and calibration laboratories. It was issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

On July 22, 2026, the Office of Quality Accreditation under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations granted a certificate recognizing that the Chemical Laboratory Team under the Chemical Workshop of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant has testing competence meeting the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
