500 kV Duyen Hai-My Tho Thermal Power line is put into operation

On 26 May 2016, Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB) and related units performed acceptance procedures for and activated the 500 kV Duyen Hai – My Tho Thermal Power line.

The 500 kV Duyen Hai – My Tho Thermal Power line with a scope of 113-km-long double circuit is connected from the distribution platform of Duyen Hai Power Center 500 kV substation to 500 kV My Tho substation. The line consists of 241 columns that go through 44 communes and towns of 12 districts of Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, Vinh Long and Tien Giang provinces.

​The project is invested at an amount of 4,359 million VND by Viet Nam Electricity National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT). SPMB represented EVNNPT to manage the project; Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company No.2 takes charge of designing work; Power Transmission Company No. 4 managed undertakes the operation.

The 500 kV Duyen Hai – My Tho Thermal Power line when being completed and put into operation will connect, receive and transmit the power of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Center to the National Power System; exchange power energy with major power sources to be built in the region and will increase the stability and reliability of the power system; ensure reliable and constant power source to serve the socio-economic development of the South West provinces and neibouring areas.
