At the meeting, EVN Deputy General Director Ngo Son Hai said that Viet Nam power system currently reached a scale of over 38,000 MW, however there were gaps in capacity among different regions. As a result, power generated in the Northern and the Central regions was transmitted to the Southern region.
To ensure sufficient supply for the South, in the upcoming period, EVN has made endeavor to improve reliability of the transmission power grid. Meanwhile, EVN has also focused on enhancing stability and capability of full-loaded operation of coal power units in the Southern area.

Based on information provided by EVN Deputy General Director, Mr. Anders Maltesen said that, GE, possessing long-term experience and advanced technology, was always ready to support EVN improve the feasibility and increase operating efficiency of the thermal power units.
Also at the meeting, the two parties also discussed about information technology applications, gave solutions in optimizing management system, operation system in thermal power plans.
Mr. Anders Maltesen stressed that, upon the existing relationship between the two corporations, GE hoped to become the long-term trustworthy partner of EVN.
