HCMC proposes to adjust master plan of electricity development

Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) People’s Committee (PPC) recently has dispatched Document No. 2021/UBND-CNN to Ministry of Industry and Trade regarding supplement and adjustment to the project of 220/110 kV power grid under the master plan of HCMC electricity in the period up to 2015 with a vision to 2020.

The City’s PPC suggested Ministry of Industry and Trade accept in principle on adjusting the City’s electricity development master plan in the period up to 2015 with a vision to 2020 to add on the following projects invested by HCMC Power Corporation:

New construction of Tao Dan - Tan Cang 220kV underground cables with purposes of maintaining stability of the City 220 kV power grid and improving power supply reliability of 220 kV substations in the urban areas (District 1, 3, Binh Thanh, etc.). It is expected to be in operation in 2018.

New construction of Ky Hoa 110 kV substation, capacity 2x63 MVA. This project aims at supplying power for loads developing in District 10’s center area and sharing load with the currently full-loaded Hoa Hung 110 kV substation. The substation is expected to be taken into operation in 2017.

Additionally, HCMC proposed to newly build Le Minh Xuan Industrial Zone 2,3 110 kV; Linh Dong 110 kV; Xuan Hong 110 kV substations and Thi Nghe - Thu Thiem 110 kV Underground Cables. These projects upon completion shall have capacity of 2x63 MVA and be expectedly put into operation in 2017.

Besides, HCMC proposed renovating Hoc Mon - Ba Queo 110 kV line and Phu Lam - Tan Tao - Le Minh Xuan 110 kV line.

HCMC PPC requested HCMC Power Corporation to contact directly to the districts’ people’s committees and related Departments to negotiate about the locations of 110 kV substations and the alignment of adjusting plan projects according to Paragraph 1, Article 25 of Circular No. 43/2013/TT-BCT issued by Ministry of Industry and Trade.
