The highest load growth rate in the North

Bac Giang is the province with the highest load growth rate in the North in recent years. According to Bac Giang Power Company, in the 2016-2022 period, the province's commercial electricity grew by an average of 18.03% per year. Power components for industry - construction account for a large proportion of nearly 70% of commercial electricity output.

EVN and its member units have basically ensured the power supply for the loads in Bac Giang province, especially industrial zones, contributing to the province's socio-economic development.

Currently, Bac Giang province is supplied power from 4 220kV substations and 110kV transmission lines connected to the power grid of Bac Ninh, Lang Son, and Hai Duong provinces. Particularly for the 110kV power grid, there are 19 substations with a total capacity of 1,769MVA. Most of these substations are supplied power from two 110kV transmission lines. The load-carrying levels of the lines and substations are within the allowable limits (less than 90%).

To ensure power supply to the province, EVNNPC and EVNNPT are investing in a number of 500-220-110kV power grid projects in the area.

Focus on solving problems

At the meeting, the Chairman of EVN's Board of Directors Dang Hoang An suggested the Bac Giang PPC continue to facilitate and support EVN and its member units in the investment and construction of power projects according to the plan. The close coordination and direction of the provincial leaders are very important to help the Power sector fulfill the power supply task for the socio-economic development of the province.

The meeting took place at headquarters of Bac Giang PPC on afternoon of August 25

EVN also suggested the PPC direct departments, agencies, and sectors to support and facilitate the approval of investment policies and investors for power grid projects in accordance with the Law on Investment; at the same time, coordinate with EVN and its member units to soon remove existing difficulties and obstacles.
