Operation situation in October and work goals and tasks in November 2022

In October 2022, Vietnam Electricity continued to ensure a safe and uninterrupted power supply, serving socio-economic development and meeting the people's daily needs. In particular, EVN has ensured a safe power supply and actively responded to storm No. 5 (SONCA), Storm No. 6 (NESAT), floods, and landslides in some localities in the Central region.

Power production of the whole system in October 2022 reached 21.9 billion kWh. Accumulated 10 months reached 225.98 billion kWh, an increase of 6.1% over the same period, in which the ratio of mobilizing some types of power sources to the total power production of the whole system is as follows:

+ Due to a lot of water in the Central and Southern regions, the total mobilized hydropower production is higher than the plan, reaching 82.42 billion kWh, accounting for 36.5%.

+ Coal thermal power reached 86.56 billion kWh, accounting for 38.3%.

+ Gas turbines reached 23.87 billion kWh, accounting for 10.6%.

+ Renewable energy reached 29.87 billion kWh, accounting for 13.2% (of which solar power reached 22.65 billion kWh, and wind power reached 6.91 billion kWh).

+ Imported power reached 2.68 billion kWh, accounting for 1.2%.

In the first 10 months of 2022, the power output produced by EVN and Power Generation Corporations reached 103.89 billion kWh, accounting for 45.97% of the power production of the whole system. Notably, due to the sudden increase in the price of input fuels for power production (such as coal, oil, and gas) since the beginning of the year, EVN's power production costs have increased very high, leading to many financial difficulties.

Business and customer service: In order to create convenience, transparency, and utility for people and businesses in using power services, EVN has implemented many reforms in the provision of power services. In 2022, EVN deployed the connection to the National Database on Population to simplify power service procedures and reduce paperwork for people when performing services related to residential electricity purchase and sale contracts, directly connecting e-invoices with the General Department of Taxation, deploying connection with the National Data Integration and Sharing Platform (NDXP) to provide power services on the digital citizen platform of Vietnam. provinces/cities. By the end of October 2022, the rate of customers paying electricity bills without cash reached 92.32%; the percentage of electricity bills paid by non-cash in EVN reached 97.57%.

Construction investment: In the first 10 months of 2022, EVN and its units have started 92 projects and completed energizing and putting into operation 82 power grid projects from 110 kV to 500 kV (including 6 500 kV projects, 15 220 kV projects, and 61 110 kV projects). Which, EVN and its units have energized the second transformers of Viet Tri 500kV substations; energized and temporarily operated the Kien Binh-Phu Quoc 220kV power line, the South Phu Quoc 110kV substation, the second transformers of Luu Xa 220kV substations; energized T2 transformer at Nguyen Giap 110kV substation, 110kV branch and 110kV bay at Van Trung 110kV substation, Hoa Mac 110kV power line and substation, T2 transformer at Khe Cham 110kV substation.

Digital transformation: Units throughout EVN have completed 88.4% of the plan to implement digital transformation in the two years 2021-2022, in which some areas have been completed at a high rate such as internal administration (99.3%), business and customer service (98.45%), construction investment (96.6%). By the end of 2022, it is expected to basically complete the key tasks.

Besides, with many typical application solutions for digital transformation, EVN was honored to receive the Excellent Digital Transformation Enterprise award in 2022 at the "Vietnam Digital Awards 2022" Award Ceremony. This is the 4th time in a row in 5 years that the Awards have been held, EVN has been honored as an Excellent Digital Transformation Enterprise.

In October 2022, EVN also successfully organized the Vietnam Electricity's Excellent Worker Contest 2022, contributing to improving professional and technical knowledge and professional practice, building industrial manners and labor discipline for the workforce directly at units in EVN. There were 122 excellent workers who achieved high achievements in the contest and were honored to be congratulated and praised by the President.

Some targets and tasks of EVN in November 2022

It is expected that the average power consumption of the whole system in November 2022 will be at 704 million kWh/day (an increase of about 2% over the same period).

Operational objectives of the power system in November 2022: Continuing to ensure safe and continuous power production and supply to serve the people's daily life and the country's socio-economic development, especially to ensure electricity for the 4th session of the XV National Assembly. Regarding power source mobilization: Maximizing the mobilization of hydropower plants that are having to discharge water (or are at risk of water discharge) at the request of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the local Steering Committee, and at the same time updating the hydrological forecast to have a suitable regulation plan; Mobilizing coal-fired power, gas turbine according to system demand and hydro-thermal power optimization problem; Highly exploiting coal-fired power plants in the North to gradually accumulate water in hydropower reservoirs; Reserving oil thermal power.

Regarding construction investment: Continuing to handle problems in land clearance work, focusing on the construction of key power source projects. Regarding the power grid: Concentrating on human resources, materials, and equipment to ensure the energizing schedule by the end of 2022 for important projects: Van Phong 500kV substation and connected 220kV power line; Van Phong-Vinh Tan 500kV line; Long Thanh 500kV substation and connected 500-220kV lines; increasing capacity of Song May 500kV substation; connected 220kV power lines of Bac Quang, Bac Giang-Lang Son, Ninh Phuoc-Thuan Nam and the 220kV substations of Yen My and Tam Phuoc, etc.

In November 2022, EVN's units continue to fully prepare human resources and means, strengthen 24/7 response; proactively respond to natural disasters in the rainy and stormy season, ensure the safety of people, equipment, power works and ensure the safety of dams, hydropower plants, and downstream areas of reservoirs... At the same time, to reduce difficulties in power system operation, Vietnam Electricity continues to advise people, offices, and production places to pay attention to the safe and economical use of electricity...
