Power production of the whole system in June 2022 reached 24.52 billion kWh. Accumulated 6 months reached 133.11 billion kWh, an increase of 3.8% over the same period, in which the ratio of mobilizing some types of power sources to the total power production of the whole system is as follows:
+ Hydropower output reached 41.58 billion kWh, accounting for 31.2%.
+ Coal thermal power reached 55.79 billion kWh, accounting for 41.8.
+ Gas turbines reached 15.22 billion kWh, accounting for 11.4%.
+ Renewable energy reached 19.2 billion kWh, accounting for 14.4% (solar power reached 14.25 billion kWh, wind power reached 4.67 billion kWh).
+ Imported power reached 1.32 billion kWh, accounting for 1%.
In the first 6 months of 2022, the power output produced by EVN and Power Generation Corporations (including joint stock companies) reached 60.54 billion kWh, accounting for 45.36% of the power production of the whole system.
Construction investment: In the first months of 2022, complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in the whole country affected the project implementation progress. With the help of foreign experts as well as a shortage of domestic human resources, the coordination with localities to carry out site clearance work faced many difficulties. Regarding the power grid, in the first 6 months of 2022, EVN and its units have started 67 projects and completed energizing and putting into operation 49 power grid projects from 110kV to 500kV (including 04 projects of 500kV, 08 220kV projects and 37 110kV projects). Besides, EVN and its units have completed the project quality management process and the internal quality management process of the distribution network, etc. Regarding the power source: continuing to focus on the construction of projects of Ialy Power Plant, Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant, Phuoc Thai Solar Power Projects 2, 3.
Digital transformation: units in the whole EVN have completed 79.8% of the plan of digital transformation in the two years 2021-2022, in which some areas have been completed with a high rate such as internal governance (94.1%), sales & customer service (96%).
Some targets and tasks of EVN in July 2022
According to the weather trend assessment of the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, in July 2022, hot weather will continue to appear in the North and Central regions. The average temperature in the North is commonly 0.5°C higher, and in other places at 0.5-1.00C higher than the average for many years in the same period. The expected average power consumption of the whole system is 793.8 million kWh/day (increasing by 6.4% over the same period), the largest load capacity is estimated at 42,390 MW.
The objective of the electricity system operation in July 2022 is: continuing to ensure the production and supply of power to serve the country's socio-economic development and people's daily activities, especially the requirement to ensure a safe and stable power supply to serve the graduation exam of high school. Optimized operation of the power system on the principle of ensuring safe operation, while gradually reducing EVN's financial difficulties.
Regarding power source mobilization: Maximizing the mobilization of hydropower plants with good water inflow; coal-fired power, gas turbine mobilized according to system demand and hydro-thermal power optimization solution; oil thermal power reserve.
Regarding construction investment: Continuing to closely follow the construction progress, ensure the plan of energizing important grid works: 500kV Vung Ang - Quang Trach transmission line, 220kV Chu Se substation and connection, circuit 2 of 220kV Lao Cai - Bao Thang lines, etc.
In July 2022, EVN continues to direct hydropower plants/companies to operate reservoirs and dams in accordance with the executive direction of the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Steering Committees of provinces/cities, strengthening propaganda about the role of hydropower in flood reduction/stoppage. Power Corporations/Companies continue to perform well the assurance of power supply in the dry season, fully prepare human resources and vehicles, strengthen 24/7 duty to promptly respond to natural disasters, storms and floods, and such as local overload situations, promptly handling incidents, continuing efforts to ensure power supply to customers. Vietnam Electricity continues to advise people, offices and production places to pay attention to using electricity safely and economically, especially during peak hours at noon and in the evening (from 11:30 a.m. to 14h30, evening from 20h00 to 23h00); At the same time, pay attention to rational use of air conditioners (set at 26-27 degrees or higher, in combination with fans) and should not use many electrical appliances with large capacity at the same time, and so on.
