On August 23, 2020, electricians of Binh Dinh Power Company officially completed the final steps to energize all households in Nhon Chau island commune (also known as Green Island) by connecting to the national power grid.
Mr. Ho Van Dang, living in Dong hamlet, Nhon Chau commune happily shared: “For a long time I have used electricity generated by generators with unstable quality. Today, having access to the national power grid, we are very excited and happy. Having electricity, the people's economic life will be more stable and more jobs will be created, thanks to the Party, the State and the efforts of the power sector”.

Mr. Ho Nhat Le, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Chau island commune thankfully stated: “In the past, life of residents on the island were difficult. Later, thanks to the State’s support, diesel generators operated for six hours a day, then increasing to 12 hours per day, however this unstable and insecure power source made the life of local people and the local economy on the island hard to develop. Now, favorable conditions are created to enable the island to secure political tasks, security and social order; local people being electrified can improve their lives and economic development conditions will correspondingly develop. Nhon Chau island commune will soon have a new face”.
The project of rural electrification for Nhon Chau island commune by submarine cable with the aim of provide stable electricity for local people, authorities and organizations on the island, was considered by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the EU as one of the projects being implemented very rapidly and effectively by the Power industry.

Bringing the national power grid to Nhon Chau island is a political task assigned by the Party, the Government, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to EVNCPC; at the same time, it aims to accomplish the goal of eliminating the "white zone" of the national power grid in the central region.
Electricity will improve the material and spiritual life of 600 local households; contributing to maintaining security, national defense, protecting the sovereignty of territory, the sea and islands of the country.
