Ensure power supply for the South
At Vinh Tan Power Center (Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan Province), EVN has put Vinh Tan 2 TPP (capacity of 2 x 622MW) and Vinh Tan 4 TPP (capacity of 2 x 600MW) into operation.
Particularly, Vinh Tan 2 TPP is managed by Vinh Tan Thermal Power Company, Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3); Vinh Tan 4 TPP is directly managed by EVN. Vinh Tan 2 and Vinh Tan 4 TPP have stably and reliably operated their units, meeting the high mobilization of the National Load Dispatch Center, making an important contribution to ensuring power supply for the South in dry season.
Specifically, in the first quarter, Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant generated 1.681 billion kWh, reaching 41.6% of the assigned plan for 6 months in the dry season (4.041kWh), its generator units always operate with high capacity, ensuring environmental safety.
From December 2018, Vinh Tan Thermal Power Company conducted a test of burning coal mixture containing imported Sub-bituminous coal and domestic 6a.1 anthracite coal dust. The burning has contributed to improving operational effectiveness, the proactiveness in sourcing coal supply, and especially improving the quality of ash and slag to raise their consumption capacity, reduce storage at disposal areas.
Currently, following the direction from the Group, the Company focuses on adequately importing coal to satisfy fuel for the remaining months of dry season in 2019.

Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant, officially operated independently from 1st January 2019, as of 31st March 2019, the Plant generated 1.806 billion kWh, surpassing 4.73% of the plan assigned by EVN.

Continue to attach special importance to environmental protection
Over the past time, the two plants have strictly complied, properly and adequately implemented regulations of the law on environmental protection. At the same time, they have actively implemented communication movements for people about such regulations. For example, Vinh Tan 2 TPP is always open to welcome people to visit and learn about modern environmental protection technology of the Plant.
At Vinh Tan 4 TPP, right from its initial operation, the system of environmental protection equipment has been effectively operated. “Through monitoring statistics, the plant’s emissions parameters are better controlled than specified in regulations. For example, dust concentration at chimney output of generator unit S1 is 23 mg/Nm3, and that at chimney output of generator unit S2 is only 5 mg/Nm3, much lower than the prescribed value of 50 mg/Nm3 in QCVN 22:2009/BTNMT” - said Mr. Vu Thanh Hai, Deputy Director in charge of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant.
Currently, the 2 plants have actively worked with partners to promote consumption and treatment of ash and slag. At their disposal areas, the plants have maintained systems of continuous loop irrigation, dust control and continued to plant trees, creating green - clean landscapes.
